Andrew Ellinger takes First Buck with Kibler Colonial

This photo and story were submitted for the I Love Muzzleloading Hunting Giveaway.

I was able to take this deer in Tazewell, VA. We identified a few bucks to take out of our deer herd this year and this one is forky.( We name all of our bucks). I had watched him for a week straight, along with the other bucks and decided to take him on our 2nd to last day of hunting for the week. My first successful flintlock harvest with my Kibler .54cal colonial. Unfortunately, it was too cold for me to wear all my period gear, but I am beyond happy to have had the opportunity to get out and hunt a bunch this year with my dad and close friends.

Thank you Andrew, for sharing this great photo. You did a great job with your rifle and we’re so happy to see you take your first buck with it. Here’s to many more years with your rifle, and many more nice deer!
