Today we're talking to Blake Bates, an outdoorsman, and father from the mountains of Arkansas. Blake has been hunting with his family and with their muzzleloaders since he was a boy and recently took his first Arkansas Black Bear with one of his muzzleloaders.
Blake tells the story of his hunt and the unlikely way he came about the bear, but we also discuss how Blake got interested in Muzzleloaders, and why he's passing the tradition down to his kids at a young age.
I mention it in the show, but Blake is about as close to a classic outdoorsman as it gets, he's kind, humble, respectful and truly cares about the animal and its home. It was great to catch up with Blake and hear his great stories, I hope you enjoy them too.
