A Beginners Guide to Flintlock Rifles: Part One with Mike Beliveau

Duelist 1954, Mike Beliveau is back with another great video to guide new muzzleloading enthusiasts through their new adventure. In “A beginners guide to flintlock rifles: part one”, Mike gives an extensive overview of the flintlock mechanism and what it takes to get it shooting in 2021.

Muzzleloading has expanded in popularity over the last two years. Whether people are interested in connecting with their history, expanding their hunting season, or concerned about the shortage of modern ammunition and primers, there are a lot of new muzzleloading enthusiasts out there looking to learn and you couldn’t find a better source than the Duelist 1954 Youtube Channel.

This is part one of a three-part series to provide a beginner’s guide to flintlock rifle shooting. In this episode I’ll concentrate on the gun itself…choosing a flintlock rifle, and I’ll discuss the characteristics of a good flintlock.

In the video description, Mike shares three links to reputable beginner muzzleloader manufacturers so you can find something in your budget to get started:
