UPDATED: Kibler Shares “Kibler Fowler” Update in new Video | April 2024
It’s been a few years since the announcement of a Kibler Fowler, and it looks like we are getting closer, but a bit more waiting is ahead for fans of the Kibler Kits.
Things we know now
Will be offered in 16 and 20-gauge
The Kibler Fowler will use the Kibler Colonial Lock.
Barrels will be octagon to round in profile. The barrels will start turned and then have tapered flats machined.
Hardware will be made of brass.
The trigger guard will be an ornate brass trigger guard with a decorative, cast-in finial at the foreend.
The ramrod entry pipes may be cast, machined, or rolled. Sounds like Jim is leaning towards rolling them out of thin sheet, as would have been done in the 18th century.
Jim teased a short look at the butt plate, a brass casting with stepped finials that will align on the comb of the stock.
Jim Kibler Longrifles revealed the use of 3D printed prototypes in their development process with a short look at a 3D printed buttstock section used to check the fit of a butt plate casting.

A day after publishing the video, Jim shared these photos of a “prototype” stock. The team noted that there will be some changes after this first test.
Questions Remaining
Will Jim offer any sort of choked barrel? While not entirely historically accurate, depending on the period, many modern hunters and sportsmen enjoy having a choke in their barrel to change patterns while hunting.
