Let's Build a Kibler Woodsrunner Flintlock Muzzleloader Kit | Part 1 | DIY Blackpowder

Follow along as I build a Kibler Woodsrunner kit for my friend. I've not had a chance to build one of these and when a buddy asked if I'd build one for him, I jumped at the chance. Jim Kibler has made a great tutorial series on the step-by-step process to build one of these kits, I'll be following along with those and then deviating with my own attempt at carving and finishing.

We'll be adding some period-appropriate carving to this piece that fits not only historically, but functionally with my skill level.

Kibler Woodsrunner Carving Planner

This isn’t endorsed by Kibler, it’s just something I did to help me, and thought it would be fun to share! Click here to download the printable PDF file of the Kibler Woodsrunner Carving Planner. Be sure to print the PDF at 100% size to get the best proportions.

The PDF isn’t a 1:1 scale to the full-sized kit, it’s designed to be more of a planner than a transfer. Practice drawing the patterns you want and it’ll be easier to draw on the stock later.
