Let's Build an InvestArm Plains Pistol Kit Part 4: Motise Correction & more | Caplock Muzzleloader

Today we're back in the shop for our first Winter 2023-2024 project! This kit is a continuation of the Lyman Plains Blackpowder Pistol, now made by InvestArm of Italy. In this video I focus on re-shaping the lock and side plate mortises for a more artistic and historically accurate look. There is a lot of wood to remove and taking the time to clean up these areas will pay dividends as we move forward. I'll use the half round, medium coarseness file to do most of this work.
