Traditions Muzzleloaders Announces “Pro Series” Muzzleloading Line | SHOT Show 2024

As SHOT Show 2024 roars ahead with the latest in popular firearms trends, muzzleloading news can be a little slow. We did get one update out of Conntecticut based Traditions. Traditions Performance Firearms announced the release of its “Pro Series” Muzzleloading Line. The Pro Series is Tradition's line extenstion designed for hunters looking for a full-featured firearm, and will be available in the NitroFire and Pursuit XT as well as the non-muzzleloading Outfitter G3 product lines.

The above image was shared by Traditions Influencers “RJandAubrey” from the SHOT Show 2024 Floor. The lighting makes it a little ahrd to make out but you can see towards the bottom of the display the details of the Pro Series.

The Pro Series features an adjustable cheekpiece which can be raised or lowered by simply turning the screw on the side of the stock. This can even be done with a coin in a pinch. It locks into place once set, allowing for a more comfortable magnified shooting position by raising the comb. Meanwhile, the adjustable length of pull (LOP) can be changed by adding or removing spacers. The threaded barrel is another key feature of the Pro Series as it allows for a muzzle brake to be added for reduced recoil and better control. Additional accessories are available for the Pro Series and will be announced separately. Whether exclusively a muzzleloader hunter looking at the NitroFire or Pursuit XT family, or a rifle shooter interested in an Outfitter G3, the Pro Series has a model to fill the niche.

Marketing manager Alison Hall commented “Traditions Pro Series really offers a hunter or shooter all the bells and whistles they would be looking for in a firearm. This series provides our most full-featured option across 3 different series. With he adjustments able to be made, this allows for a more comfortable shooting experience and will really enhance someone’s hunt. The threaded barrel allows for the option to add a muzzle brake to reduce recoil. As hunters and shooters ourselves, we build our products to be as user-friendly as possible and we’ve done that with the Pro Series.”

In addition to the Pro Series, Traditions announced their first accessory that works alongside the “pro” line additions, the Traditions Pro Series Muzzle Brake.

The Pro Series Muzzle Brake fits the threaded barrel NitroFire® and Pursuit™ XT Pro Series models, which have been introduced for 2024. It meets SAAMI thread specifications and is 3/4-24. It is self timing so the user can time the muzzle brake themselves. Traditions® Pro Series Muzzle Brake is designed to reduce recoil without affecting accuracy and with side ports that allows for rapid smoke diversion which helps the shooter to stay on target. A brass ramrod extension is included so you can easily load your firearm without removing the brake. Traditions® Pro Series Muzzle Brake helps to balance the rifle and the Nitride finish provides protection against corrosion.

Senior Product Development Manager Karl Ricker says “The Pro Series Muzzle Brake is a great addition along with our Pro Series line. This adds another element for the shooter or hunter that is looking to have an upgraded shooting experience. The Pro Series Muzzle Brake reduces felt recoil and we are excited to add this option into our line of products.”

The Pro Series Muzzle Brake has an MSRP of $99.95. To learn more about the Pro Series Muzzle Brake, visit Traditions® SHOT show booth #14638 or www.traditionsfirearms.com.

It’s interesting to see Traditions launch the “Pro Series”, the modifications allow for incremental updates to Traditions’ exisiting successful products. This cuts down on R&D time and money, getting products to market faster. The “Pro” name is making waves in the tech world, with almost every tech company releasing something “pro” to the point where it’s become a meme, but we aren’t seeing it in the shooting industry to the point of jokes just yet. Traditions’ pro offerings bring their line up to speed with competitor CVA, who in recent years brought similar features to their line of muzzleloaders.

Increasing comfort and reducing recoil will continue to be a trend as more modern muzzleloading enthusiasts look to increase their charge and projectile size as they seek larger game across the United States.
