YouTube Hits I Love Muzzleloading Kit Builds | Gemmer Series Now on Gumroad

Editor’s note: We normally refrain from complaining about platforms. This notice is meant to inform folks of where they can find these videos in the future.

In an email we received just before leaving for the Kalamazoo Living History Show, YouTube announced it had removed one of my Gemmer Build videos for violating its firearms policy. The section to blame? Showing Bob Woodfill’s Hawken book as a reference.

After receiving a community warning in December for not being able to remove violating content in a manner that YouTube agreed with, never mind that YouTube wouldn’t give a concrete explanation of what needed to be removed, I have decided to remove the majority of the Gemmer build series from YouTube to avoid any further destruction of the channel.

This is a frustrating decision to make, as the series still gets questions and feedback, nearly two years after its release. From here on out, the videos will be available to stream and/or download for FREE on Gumroad.

Kit builds are important to me. While this series has been targeted, my other series have been safe so far. With two kit builds on the bench this year, I hope to have a format developed that is informative and instructional while not risking the work that has been put into the channel.

Thank you as always for your questions, comments, and concerns. I am not the only one to be hit by this latest wave of “moderation”. Please check on your other muzzleloading enthusiasts.
