CVA gives a facelift to the original Paramount Muzzleloader

Yesterday CVA announced the CVA Paramount Pro V2, giving long-range enthusiasts another option for a high-end rifle, but CVA isn’t content with stopping there. Today they’ve announced some new updates to the original Paramount rifle.

We’ve given our ever-popular Paramount long-range muzzleloader just a bit of a facelift for 2023, featuring our nitride finish barrel & @realtreeoutdoors Hillside camo stock! Check it out at CVA.com!

Most noticeable is the color change in the stock. Formally a solid green, the new Paramount stock features the RealTree Outdoors Hillside Camo pattern, a favorite when released last year with the Paramount HTR. Next, you’ll notice the barrel comes from the factory with a threaded muzzle. As brakes become more popular and hunters seek manufacturers to thread existing Paramount rifles, adding a threaded barrel from the factory will be welcome and a reason to upgrade for some. The Paramount does not come with a scope, but as noted in the Paramount Owners Manual, the action is drilled and tapped for a scope mount.

The Paramount™ is precision drilled and tapped for scope mounting and will accept any one or two-piece base made for the Remington 700 Short Action rifle. This common base set is available almost anywhere that quality firearms are sold. For the best long-range performance, we recommend using a one piece rail made to Picatinny specs with a 20MOA slant. If such a rail mount is not available in your area, they can be ordered at a reasonable price through CVA Customer Service or at CVA.com.

Equally important is a set of quality rings. Make sure the rings selected are heavy duty and fit the chosen base properly. There are many manufacturers of scope bases and rings. Each manufacturer has its own specifications for installing the parts. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions when installing, including the recommended torque settings for the screws (if provided).

No major mechanical overhauls have been announced, but the updates to the look and feel of the rifle will be welcome for those looking for something with more “oomph” than the Accura, but not wanting to spend as much for the Paramount Pro line of rifles.
