How to make your muzzleloader look OLD | SIMPLE | Investarms Gemmer Hawken How to Build Part 22

In this video I show you how to add some DIY age to your muzzleloader stock.

Preparing the Stock

In case you haven’t followed the series up to this point, you’ll want to apply the stain and 1-2 coats of your preferred stock oil to the stock of your muzzleloader kit. Once we apply the bone black, it will be difficult to change the color of the stock without removing the black

The Tools Needed for Aging your Muzzleloader

  • 1”-2” paint brush

  • Wood Stock Oil, I’m using Danish Oil but you can use Tru oil or something else

  • Bone Black, I’m using Kibler’s Bone Black

To apply the pigment, I’m following Jim Kibler’s technique which employs the use of the “Dry Brushing” technique by mixing a small amount of oil with a larger amount of the pigment.

If you have any questions about this kit or the techniques I'm using, leave them in the comments below. I will address as many comments as I can in videos associated with this series to give you as much detail as I can about the answer.
