Traditions Shedhorn Begins Arriving at Retailers in time for Fall Hunting Season

A Facebook post shared by Michigan’s “Kenockee Tradin’ Post” marked the first time we’ve gotten confirmation of the new Traditions Shedhorn arriving at retailers.

From Traditions - the NEW SHEDHORN has arrived! Traditional style takes a musket cap. 50 caliber - removable breech plug. Open sights, drilled & tapped for scope. Round ball or conical; loose powder or pellets.

It should be noted as well that the shipment of Shedhorns included a variety of other Traditions models as well, including the popular .50 cal Traditions Trapper Pistol.

About the Traditions Shedhorn

The ShedHorn™ is the perfect choice for sidelock enthusiasts or those looking for an affordable sidelock to meet regulations in their primitive or heritage season. This sidelock is .50 caliber and has a musket cap ignition. It fires loose black powder or Pyrodex. The ShedHorn™ has an Accelerator™ Breech Plug which removes by hand for easy cleaning. The Chromoly steel barrel keeps this firearm lightweight yet accurate and the Premium CeraKote Finish helps protect against weather and corrosion.

The Shedhorn looks to be available in three options with MSRPs of $468-$559 depending on the finish you select. The Traditions Shedhorn is only available in .50 caliber.

I got to see the Traditions Shedhorn hands-on at the 2023 NRA Show in Indianapolis, Indiana. The above video should start at the Traditions Booth to give you one of the first up-close looks at this new muzzleloader.
